ADDITIONAL LOCAL RULES TO THE GI HARD CARD
(Only those printed hereunder are effective, IGNORE Clubhouse Notices and Scorecard)
DROP ZONE – As an additional option for a player who is opts to take Penalty Relief for an unplayable lie due to the boundary wall at the rear of the 2nd green, the player may choose to proceed to the DZ left/right as indicated by centre line and arrows. The Drop zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3
Out of Bounds (Rule 18):
- On, In or Over all Boundary Walls and Fences, and beyond all lines/margins indicated by White Posts.
- Car Park, Machinery Shed & Enclosure, Clubhouse Enclosure as indicated by Hard Surfaces. To the rear of Hole 9, a ball in or beyond the cutting adjacent to the kerbing is Out of Bounds (indicated by the line of painted spots).
- Area known as ‘Gibleen’ which is on the right of 14th, 15th, & 17th Holes and in front of 18th Championship & Medal Tee Boxes.
- Right of the Lake on the 18th Hole and Left of the 9th Hole as indicated by White Stakes.
- Driving Range Area as indicated by White Posts to the Right of the 7th Hole and to the Left of the 10th Hole.
- Over the Roadway to the Right of the 9th Hole as indicated by kerbing and White Posts.
- Shrubbery and Flower Beds at rear of 9th Green as indicated by White Line/Posts.
- Left and the rear of the 14th Hole as indicated by trench & White Posts.
Penalty Areas (Rule 17):
- As indicated by yellow or red stakes and/or lines.
On Hole 18 tall Indicator Posts (Blue/White) are set on the margin of the greenside Penalty Area. Please note that should a ball last cross the margin of the penalty area between said Indicator Posts and come to rest in the Penalty Area, then there is an additional relief option for a player who is taking penalty relief outside the penalty area, in the Drop Zone provided (note the player also has the option of playing the ball as it lies). Where a ball crosses into the Penalty Area anywhere else, the Dropping Zone is NOT an option, and the player may only take relief under Rule 17.1. The Drop zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.
Tubed trees (LHS of Hole 18 and Hole 2):
Model Local Rule E-10.2 is in operation (the player may take relief under Rule 16.1 – however, the tubed trees are not No Play Zones and the player can play the ball as it lies if they wish).
Abnormal Course Conditions (GUR):
1. A continuous White Line marks all areas of Ground Under Repair.
Integral Objects:
- Internal Walls and edifices.
- Teeing Grounds.
- Bridges.
- Fallen Trees and exposed Tree Stumps.
Note: There are no Greenkeeper’s Cuttings piled for Removal.
Designated Practice Areas
In accordance with Rule 2 on the Golf Ireland Hard Card, the area to the rear and right hand side of the first tee, in addition to all identifiable practice areas inside the course boundary, are deemed to be designated practice areas. This includes the pitch and putt course, although competitors are asked not to play practice shots on the pitch and putt course itself.
